PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Danville wins at Shootout

Jan. 2—HAMMOND, Ind. — The Danville boys basketball team hit the road to participate in the Mac Jelks Shootout at Hammond Morton High School on Tuesday.

The Viking took on Cardinal Newman (S.C.) in the shootout and was able to get a 62-51 win.

Devin Larkin had 23 points to lead Danville — who was down 31-28 at halftime, but outscored Cardinal Newman 34-20 in the second half, while JaVaughn Robinson had 11 points and CL Dye, DeMarcus Lucas, Jentezen Harris and A'Jani Davis each had six points.

The Vikings will return home on Friday, when they face Champaign Centennial.
