For the past three seasons, the Jaguars have had to rely on Blake Bortles and the passing game because they never had a true steady running attack. Last season, they switched Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon as the starters. Between these two backs, they had 904 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Yeldon played only 15 games and Ivory played in 11 games.

With the draft coming up, not a lot of people knew what the Jaguars were going to do. In the beginning of this process it was said that Jonathan Allen was the best prospect for the Jags and it was like that until it came out that he was having shoulder problems. The Jags went with the best prospect and took Fournette number four overall.

Fournette dominated college football for LSU. In 2014 he rushed for 1,034 yards and ten touchdowns. He had his definite best season in 2015 with running for 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns. He had a setback in 2016, playing only seven games but he still rushed for 843 yards and eight scores.

If you watch highlights of him, he trucks his opponents and he makes it look easy. For a big back, he also has speed that is unbelievable. Even behind a not so strong line, Fournette should bring the intensity that he carries into the league.

How will he do in 2017?

Fournette should do well in his rookie year. I believe he will be this year’s Ezekiel Elliot. Even though Fournette doesn’t have the offensive line that Elliot has, he still shows promise to dominate no matter what kind of blocking he has. Fans should expect him to run defenders over and bulldoze his way into the endzone.

Season Prediction: 1,150 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Even behind a weaker offensive line, the young powerback will look to do whatever it takes to show that he can be one of the best. With his size and speed and the ability to make plays on the field, we should expect Fournette to have a great season. Overall, he should do very well in a offense that is on the rise.
