Potter County's girls, Miller's boys top field in Lakeside Invitational at Faulkton

FAULKTON — Ella Boekelheide of Northwestern and Pierce Baumberger of Miller won individual races Wednesday in the Lakeside Invitational cross country meet at the Lakeside Country Club.

There were 66 boys and 47 girls who competed in the 5,000-meter races.

Boekelheide won the girls' race in 19 minutes and 29.15 seconds. Heidi Olson (20:13) and Faith Heil (20:48.02) of Mobridge-Pollock were second and third, respectively. Dannika Kaup of Potter County took fourth (20:54.81) and Morgan Sumption of Frederick Area fifth (20:57.12).

Baumberger won the boys' race in 17:02.18, followed by teammate Alex Schumacher (17:11.06). Nicholas Schlachter of Potter County took third (17:42.82), Lincoln Woodring of Northwestern fourth (17:57.35) and Nathan Melius of Northwestern fifth (18:28.47).

Potter County's girls and Miller's boys won team titles.

Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd Invite

MADISON, Minn. — Four Canby-Minneota runners recorded top-10 finishes Tuesday in the LqPV-DB cross country invitational.

Complete results have not been posted.

In the girls division, Mya Pesek finished (20-:48) and Claire Stoks fifth (21:32) for Canby-Minneota. Ava Danielson was 13th (22:51) and Nohemi Diaz 14th (22:56) in the 5,000-meter race.

In the boys' 5,000, C-M's Zach Ourada took seventh (17:19) and Kolton Duis ninth (17:41). Blake Giese added an 11th-place finish (18:06).
