McCauley had nearly 35% of the online votes, totaling 198 to capture this week's Athlete of the Week award. Dover volleyball player Tory Vitko finished second with 158 votes.

Winnacunnet field hockey player Amber Morgado had 134 votes, York soccer player Grace Clayton had 53 votes and Newmarket soccer player Jadynn Rajda had 33, for third through fifth, respectively.

McCauley recorded seven saves in net for Portsmouth in last week' 1-0 win over Kingswood.

"Reese has really come into her own this season.  She was initially unsure if she wanted to return as a goalie, but her willingness to put our team's needs first has paid off," Portsmouth head coach Sara Carpenter said. "Reese's work ethic and coachability are two important qualities that have led to her success this season and she is improving with every practice and game.  Her confidence level continues to rise as evidenced by her increasing vocal presence - commanding the backfield and offering insight to the rest of her teammates about what she is witnessing from the goal cage. As a sophomore, it is exciting to think about how much more Reese can learn and grow as not only an athlete but as a leader, both on and off the field."
