Portage high school scores | Dec. 9: Undefeated Rootstown basketball rallies past Revere

Rootstown remained undefeated by rallying from a halftime deficit to top Revere 53-47 in nonleague girls basketball Saturday.

Abby White delivered a season-high 15 points for the Rovers (6-0), while Addy Germann added two 3-pointers to finish with nine points. Brooklynn McIntyre posted a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds), and Nadia Lough came a point shy of her own double-double (9 points, 10 rebounds).

Hailey Janke led Revere with 19 points, including four 3-pointers, and Hadley Hajdu (15) and Paige Kelley (11) also finished in double digits.

Highland 63, Roosevelt 51

The Hornets rallied to win the final three quarters after the Rough Riders surged to a 15-6 lead in the opening eight minutes.

Claire VanDamme led Roosevelt with a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds), making 8 of 13 shots from the field. Arie Wilson (14 points) also finished in double figures, while Julia Nash had seven assists.

Kennedy Morgan (17 points), Grace Weber (13), Rowan Kildoo (12) and Emily Miller (12) all scored in double figures for Highland.

Massillon 67, Field 49

After the Falcons controlled the first quarter to take a 20-13 lead, the Tigers responded with a 16-3 second quarter en route to a nonleague win.

Field (3-3) lost despite another dominant performance by Delilah Rahe (22 points, 17 rebounds). Ally Harlin added 16 points for the Falcons.

Makiya Edwards (20 points), Lania Moore (15) and Hannah Nicola (12) finished in double digits for the Tigers.

Tallmadge 48, Aurora 37

Down 13-10 at the end of a quarter, the Blue Devils surged ahead with a 13-2 second quarter followed by a 16-10 third quarter. Sydney Becks led Tallmadge with 18 points, while Addison Witting led Aurora with 12.

East Canton 53, Southeast 50

The Pirates lost at the Springfield Holiday Showcase despite 21 points from Garrett Sprutte. Caleb Schilling led the Hornets with 18 points, including making 8 of 12 from the free-throw line.
