Portage high school scores | Dec. 22: Mogadore, Streetsboro boys basketball snap skids

Streetsboro boys basketball snapped a two-game skid with a 58-51 overtime victory over Hudson on Friday.

The Rockets (3-4) took over the extra period, outscoring the Explorers 10-3.

Streetsboro's Jack Batten scored a game-high 15 points, including four 3-pointers, while fellow junior Jackson Gula was close behind with 13. Trevor Murray (8), Charles Ivory (7), Preston Laryea (6), Michael Berry (5) and Ethan Laryea (4) all added multiple buckets for the balanced Rockets.

Mogadore 86, Manchester 52

Down two at the half, the Wildcats exploded in the third, outscoring the Panthers 35-7 to snap a three-game skid.

Mogadore's Layne Miller drained six 3-pointers in scoring 22 points. Four other Wildcats players finished in double figures: Devin Graham (17), Nick Stephenson (16), Corey Lehner (15) and Tanner Buso (14).

Cardinal 62, Garfield 55

Troy Domen scored 33 points, 22 in the first half, to lift the Huskies to a non-league victory.

Preston Gedeon led the G-Men with 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Down 18 after 24 minutes, Garfield got back in the game with a 29-point fourth quarter.

Lake Center Christian 51, Rootstown 41

Down four at the half, the Tigers surged to victory behind a 14-3 fourth quarter.

Brody Zook drained four 3-pointers to lead Lake Center with 13 points, while Rootstown's Cameron Mahone scored 16 points.

Girls Basketball

Woodridge 52, Field 41

Cam Hoover helped lift the Bulldogs to victory with a 28-point, 12-rebound performance that included making all nine of her free throws.

Delilah Rahe countered with a double-double (11 points, 16 rebounds) for the Falcons (5-6, 3-4 MAC), who also got three 3-pointers and 15 points from Abby Harlin. Ally Harlin gave Field three players in double figures with 10 points.

Streetsboro 64, Coventry 15

The Rockets improved to 7-0 (6-0 MAC) with a dominant effort, outscoring the Comets 15-2 in the opening quarter and 38-5 in the first half. Naomi Benson (15 points), Ella Kassan (11) and Carlee Bedford (10) all finished in double figures while Cara Tiller joined Bedford in draining two 3-pointers apiece.
