Portage high school scores | Dec. 7: Streetsboro basketball secures key win over Norton

Jack Batten drained four 3-pointers to help lift Streetsboro to a key 51-46 victory over Norton in Metro Athletic Conference boys basketball Thursday night.

Batten led the Rockets (1-1, 1-0) with 18 points, and Charles Ivory (11 points) and Michael Berry (10) also finished in double figures for the home team.

Down two at the end of a quarter after falling behind 8-0, Streetsboro took control by winning the middle quarters by a combined 31-21 margin.

Zach Bowman had 14 points to lead Norton, which also got 11 points apiece from Lucas Dobbins and Noah Willig.

Field 47, Springfield 44

Alex Blake picked up his first win as a head coach as the Falcons took over the fourth quarter.

Down 40-36 entering the final eight minutes, Field won by holding Springfield to just four points in the fourth quarter.

Grady Eader led all scorers with 22 points, including five 3-pointers, and also led the Falcons (1-2, 1-0 MAC) with eight rebounds. Trevor Dixon added 10 points for Field.

Anthony Fortner led Springfield with 14 points.
