Tulare County athlete of the week: Tulare Union's Bellajah Nunley
Tulare Union softball player Bellajah Nunley was voted by readers as the Visalia Times-Delta Tulare County high school athlete of the week.
In an online poll that closed on March 22, Nunley received 3,035 votes, or a 38% majority, of the 8,055 responses.
Nunley pounded two hits and knocked in a pair of runs as the Tribe edged El Diamante 4-3.

Here are the choices for the week of March 18-22:
Case Anker, baseball, Central Valley Christian: Anker hurled seven strikeouts in five innings as the Cavaliers topped McLane 10-2. He allowed no earned runs and three hits.
Rebekah Beasley, softball, Mission Oak: Beasley went 3-for-4 hitting with a double, RBI and three runs as the Hawks flew past Frontier 8-0.
Makayla Heatherly, softball, El Diamante: Heatherly launched two hits, including a double, and pushed across four runs in an 11-1 rout of Garces.
Colin Horton, baseball, El Diamante: Horton pitched eight scoreless innings in a three-strikeout performance. He issued three walks and allowed just three hits in a loss to Redwood.
Alondra Magallanes, softball, Golden West: Magallanes smashed a home run and finished with four hits, two runs and four RBI to lead the Trailblazers to a 16-0 win over CVC.
Caleb Noeske, track and field, CVC: Noeske set a new school record in the discus, registering a throw of 161 feet and 6 inches at the Rafer Johnson Invitational.

Bellajah Nunley, softball, Tulare Union: Nunley pounded two hits and knocked in a pair of runs as the Tribe edged El Diamante 4-3.
Landon Peredo, baseball, Tulare Western: Peredo went 2-for-3, including a double, and knocked in the game-winning RBI as the Mustangs rallied past Mission Oak 2-1.
Erik Rico, baseball, Redwood: Rico, the starting pitcher, fired nine strikeouts in seven no-hit innings. The Rangers beat El Diamante 2-0 in 10 innings.
Aidan Robertson, baseball, Exeter: Robertson improved to 5-0 as the Monarchs edged Reedley 4-3. He fired six innings and gave up three earned runs.
Nominations are based on information available to the Times-Delta.
All high school varsity players from Tulare County can be on the ballot. Nominations must be received for consideration by Monday morning following that week's games.
