Police report details Utah swim coach Greg Winslow's alleged sexual abuse of 15-year-old girl
University of Utah head swimming coach Greg Winslow is accused of abusing an underage girl over the course of a two-year period, according to a police report obtained by Yahoo! Sports.
Winslow was suspended Thursday by the university, the same day the report was received by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in Arizona, where the alleged abuse took place.
Reached by phone Friday, Maricopa County public information officer Jerry Cobb confirmed receiving the report from the Arizona State University campus police, and said his office is reviewing the document, which recommends a review of two counts of sexual abuse against Winslow. Cobb said no charges have been filed, and normally a decision is made on that within 30 days.
Yahoo! Sports' attempts to reach Winslow for comment were not immediately returned. Contacted late Wednesday by Concussions, Inc., the blog that originally reported the sexual abuse allegations, Winslow said, "These are extremely serious allegations, and if I am accused, I will certainly respond."
According to the police report, the alleged abuse began in 2005 when Winslow, then 32, was a coach for the Sun Devils Aquatics club in Tempe, Ariz. The alleged victim, then 15, described to police recurring meetings in Winslow's office where physical contact progressed from hugging to fondling of genitalia.

The alleged victim, now 22, is coming forward now after a failed suicide attempt in 2012, according to the report.
Included in the 97-page document are details of a "confrontation" phone call recorded by police in which the alleged victim called Winslow on Nov. 18, 2012, under the guise of getting closure for what had happened years earlier. During the conversation, Winslow apologizes for kissing the alleged victim and for misleading her.
"What about for rubbing my breasts?" the alleged victim asks.
"I'm sorry for that, too," Winslow responded, according to the police report.
In an interview with police on Dec. 16, 2012, Winslow denied any inappropriate contact with the alleged victim, saying he never did anything beyond kissing her on her swim cap.
"Never fondled for sure. A hundred percent for sure never fondled," Winslow said, according to the report.
When asked about the Nov. 18 phone conversation with the alleged victim, Winslow explained that he was essentially apologizing for everything so "she could get better."
Winslow had been accused of abusive behavior before, at the University of Utah, though those accusations weren't sexual in nature. The university conducted an investigation into the allegations. Winslow was cleared by the university's Office of Equal Opportunity.
