Hard to believe that the Buffalo Bills head soon into the 2022 National Football League season as one of the favorites to make and even win the Super Bowl.

As Rochesterians well know, the words "Buffalo Bills" and "win the Super Bowl" haven't ever quite fit in the same sentence. Yet here we are, with quarterback Josh Allen leading a squad filled with talent and ambition and motivated by last season's heartbreak in the American Football Conference semifinal game in Kansas City.

There might not be anyone who understand and appreciates the fervent desire of Bills fans for their team to reach football's Promised Land. The Democrat and Chronicle's Sal Maiorana has covered the team since the Jim Kelly years, and Rochester readers have been the better for it.
