Player grades: DeRozan returns as Bulls get the victory in Paris

The Chicago Bulls won their second-straight game on Thursday as they outlasted the Detroit Pistons, 126-108, in the NBA Paris Game 2023.

Chicago hadn’t played since Sunday due to the travel overseas which gave DeMar DeRozan enough time to get back onto the floor for Thursday’s game.

In his return, DeRozan finished with 26 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor.

Zach LaVine continued his hot scoring streak, leading the Bulls with 30 points, five rebounds, and four assists on 10-of-20 shooting.

DeMar DeRozan: B+

DeRozan didn’t miss a beat in his first game back since suffering a right quad strain, finishing with 26 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block on 9-of-18 shooting from the field.

Zach LaVine: A-

Despite DeRozan’s return, LaVine led the Bulls on Thursday, finishing with 30 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal on 10-of-20 shooting from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free throw line.

Nikola Vucevic: B+

Nikola Vucevic dominated the glass in Thursday’s victory, finishing with 16 points, 15 rebounds six assists, and one steal. Though he shot 0-of-5 from downtown, Vooch was efficient from inside the arc, shooting 9-of-13.

Ayo Dosunmu: B

In Thursday’s win, Ayo Dosunmu finished with 13 points, three rebounds, and one assist on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor in 25 minutes, which included helping force Killian Hayes to shoot just 2-of-13 from the floor.

Patrick Williams: A-

Patrick Williams did a little bit of everything on Thursday. finishing with 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks on 4-of-6 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 from deep.

Alec Caruso: B+

Alex Caruso had himself quite the Alex Caruso type of game on Thursday, finishing with two points, three rebounds, three assists, four steals, and three blocks. Simply put, Caruso was everywhere.

Coby White: B

In 17 minutes off the bench on Thursday, Coby White scored 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field and a perfect 2-of-2 from 3-point range.

Derrick Jones Jr.: B+

Derrick Jones Jr. played 17 minutes off the bench as Javonte Green remains out due to injury, finishing with 12 points, two rebounds, and two blocks on 5-of-6 shooting.
