He also has used his curveball frequently, throwing it 26.6 percent of the time. … He has never faced the Cubs in his major league career. … Steele will be making his seventh start this season, though the Cubs have not been asking much of him. He has yet to throw more than five innings or exceed 80 pitches. … He allowed two runs in four innings against the Dodgers in his most recent start. … He has allowed just one home run in 22 innings. … His fastball averages 92.4 mph. He also throws a slider, curveball and the occasional change-up.

He has a .845 OPS with 12 extra-base hits in 94 at-bats. … The Cubs went 4-2 against the Diamondbacks last season, which was their first year below .500 since 2014.
