Pierre Garcon having special shoes made for this season

Pierre Garcon made an immediate connection with Robert Griffin III last season but a toe injury prevented the playmaking wide receiver from being a consistent performer throughout the season.

Garcon is currently working his way back from shoulder surgery and said during an appearance on the NFL Network’s “NFL AM” this morning that if there was a game tomorrow, he would be playing.

The foot injury is coming along too and Garcon is making preparations to deal with it.

It's coming along, I'm getting special shoes made by Russell (Athletic) so they're helping me out with that,” he said. “And (I) continue to go along with the process of rehabbing, but it's an everyday ongoing process. I have to learn a lot about my foot and how I run and things like that with all these injuries, but it's getting better.”

Garcon made four receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown in the season opener last season, his first game with the team after he was a major free-agency addition. He missed six games and finished with 44 receptions for 633 yards and four touchdowns. The Redskins are hoping for much greater production this year.
