Phoenix Suns: 4 takeaways from Bradley Beal's introductory press conference

Bradley Beal was officially introduced by the Phoenix Suns at a press conference Thursday.

Beal was acquired by the Suns earlier this month in a trade with the Washington Wizards that sent Chris Paul, Landry Shamet and multiple future draft picks to Washington. for Beal, Jordan Goodwin and Isaiah Todd. Paul later was dealt to the Warriors.

Here are a few initial takeaways from Thursday's press conference, where Beal appeared alongside head coach Frank Vogel and Suns GM James Jones:

Beal on coming to Phoenix

“I’m super excited for this opportunity. This is awesome for my family and I. Yesterday was my birthday so I feel refreshed, rejuvenated.’’ He also thanked the Wizards' organization. He spent the previous 11 seasons with Washington.

On playing with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker

"I get antsy just thinking about it,'' he said, noting opposing teams will have difficulty deciding who to double team.

“I’m excited about it. You have a lot of dynamics scorers, the biggest box we check is our unselfishness ... You can go guard Devin and KD and I can chill a little bit’’

Regarding sharing the backcourt with Booker and who will be primary ball handler: “I see it as being free flowing. I don’t think either of us really have a position. He can create, he can facilitate, shoot the ball, score the ball, and I can do the same.’’
