Phillies fan buys $4,500 worth of beer for section during Wild Card Series win vs. Marlins
A fan at the Wild Card Series playoff game between the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, Oct. 4, spent $4,500 to buy an entire section of beer in Philadelphia.
In the video posted to social media, a Citizen Bank Park vendor asks for IDs before giving out free beer and the crowd cheers.
“Free beer! Courtesy of a gentleman that doesn’t want to be named,” the vendor told the crowd.
The unnamed beer hero remains anonymous.
The Phillies swept the Marlins in the Wild Card Series with a 7-1 victory in Game 2, giving fans a reason to cheer beyond the free beverage.
The Phillies are headed to Atlanta for a best-of-five National League Division Series rematch against the Braves. The Fightin' Phils topped the Braves 3-1 in the NLDS last year on their way to the World Series.
