Going into the 2022 football season, Nittany Lions Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Penn State roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for James Franklin this season.

Next up is defensive and Nick Tarburton. Penn State‘s biggest losses upfront are Arnold Ebiketie and Jesse Luketa.

Those are some fairly big shoes to fill, but it is certainly doable.

Tarburton could be in for an impressive year with the Nittany Lions.

Depth Chart Overview

Syndication: Journal Sentinel

As mentioned, the biggest loss up front is Ebiketie and Luketa. Tarburton saw a bit more production in his second year with Penn State. He finished with 29 total tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery.

Going into 2022, Tarburton is slated to start for the Nittany Lions.

After a bit of improvement in 2021, Penn State has a good amount of young defensive ends.

That will give Tarburton not only a chance to make that third-year leap in production, but also turn himself into a leader on that team, that is full of young and incoming freshmen up front.
