Penn State snapshot profile: No. 20 Adisa Isaac

Going into the 2022 football season, Nittany Lions Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Penn State roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for James Franklin this season.

Adisa Isaac is one of the key players to watch in 2022 for the Penn State defense. After suffering a season-ending injury prior to the start of the season, Isaac’s 2021never got a chance to live up to the hype that was building coming off of the 2020 season. So now, in 2022, Isaac could make up for some lost time in a big role for the Nittany Lions defense.

Here is a snapshot look at one of Penn State’s key defensive players in 2022.

Penn State’s defensive line has the potential to be a strength for the Nittany Lions this fall, but there is an opening at defensive end that needs to be addressed. With Arnold Ebiketie off to the NFL as a second-round draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons, Penn State has some big shoes to fill at defensive end in 2022.

[autotag]Nick Tarburton[/autotag] is locked into manning the position on one end of the line, but Adisa Isaac is the likely candidate to secure the other end among returning players this season. Isaac was thought to be a rising player to watch in 2021 before an offseason injury sidelined him for the entire year. But now that he is healthy, the hope is to see Isaac pick up where he left off after a promising 2020 season.

One other player to watch at the position is Maryland transfer [autotag]Demeioun Robinson[/autotag], who comes to Penn State with potential to be a playmaker in the coming years. [autotag]Smith Vilbert[/autotag] could also be a top backup option that could get some moments as well.
