Penguins sign Jeffrey to one-year deal

The Pittsburgh Penguins signed restricted free agent forward Dustin Jeffrey to a one-year, $625,000 contract Thursday.

The 25-year-old has 15 goals and 12 assists in 90 games over five seasons with Pittsburgh, including three goals and three assists this past season.

Jeffrey was a sixth-round pick in 2007.

The move gives Pittsburgh 12 forwards signed to one-way deals for the 2013-14 season, with only defenseman Robert Bortuzzo remaining as a restricted free agent. Bortuzzo filed for arbitration and has a hearing scheduled for Aug. 1.
