Patriots Week 1 injury report: OT Trent Brown limited with illness

The New England Patriots released their first injury report of the 2023 season on Wednesday, and there were some key names on the list, including offensive tackle Trent Brown (illness).

The tackle position has been an area of concern for the Patriots with both Riley Reiff and Conor McDermott on injured reserve. That has left the Patriots to fill the right tackle position with either veteran Calvin Anderson, who spent all of training camp on the non-football illness list, rookie Sidy Sow or a pair of unproven offensive linemen in Tyrone Wheatley Jr. and Vederian Lowe.

The good news is the illness Brown experienced might have been heat-related because he did appear in the locker room during the media access period, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Here are the five players that were on the Patriots’ injury report.
