Patriots LB Ja’Whaun Bentley up for Aaron Rodgers challenge

New England Patriots linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley spoke at a press conference on Tuesday, and of course, he was asked about the New York Jets acquiring quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a trade with the Green Bay Packers.

The linebacker had the perfect response.

“Seeing moves like that, you get excited,” Bentley said, when speaking to the media.

Bentley is coming off a 2022 season that saw him record 125 combined tackles and three sacks. Both of those statistics were the highest of his career. He also tallied an interception and two pass deflections. Bentley is looking to be a veteran presence in a linebacker group that is going to get tested this season. One of those tests will include facing the Jets and Rodgers.

However, Bentley seems to be up for the challenge that Rodgers brings to the table.

Bentley and the Patriots defense will look to improve upon a season that saw them rank eighth in the NFL. Another solid season from Bentley, among others, will be crucial if the Patriots want to keep pace in the AFC East.
