Patrick Beverley says the Lakers didn’t use him right

For his first 45 games of this season, Patrick Beverley was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

They had acquired him last summer in the hopes he could give them some much-needed perimeter defense and 3-point shooting, but those types of contributions never fully materialized.

Los Angeles ended up sending Beverley to the Orlando Magic hours before the trade deadline for 3-and-D backup center Mo Bamba. It was seen as a nice deal for the Lakers, but it left the veteran guard taking multiple shots at the Purple and Gold.

He was subsequently released and ended up joining the Chicago Bulls, and after they defeated L.A. 118-108 on Sunday, he made an interesting comment that implied while Chicago coach Billy Donovan is using him correctly, the Lakers didn’t.

Could Beverley be referring to the fact that Lakers head coach Darvin Ham often assigned him to guard (much) taller wings? Or was this just his usual bluster?
