Patrick Beverley live-streamed getting the news he was traded to Bucks

Patrick Beverley got the news he was getting traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to Milwaukee while on camera, all captured on the YouTube page for "The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone."

The live stream featured a lengthy stretch of audio problems in the beginning, but at one point Beverley takes a call, presumably from his agent, that seems to confirm news he's been traded.

"Doc will let me do my thing," Beverley said, referring to head coach Doc Rivers, who coached Beverley with the Los Angeles Clippers from 2017-20 when Beverley twice received votes for NBA defensive player of the year.

The "Pat Bev Pod" account on X/Twitter also announced the trade before any national media outlet had the news.

Beverley also immediately recognized the presence of another familiar face, assistant coach Rex Kalamian. "The defensive coach is my coach!" Beverley said later.

After noting, "My boy Beas is there," Beverley apparently calls Bucks guard Malik Beasley, all while getting a rundown of the players on the team.

"I gotta get my relationship right with Dame," he said with a smile, referring potentially to a spat he got into with Lillard last January. "Time to win a championship, I gotta get my relationship right with Dame."

As he continued to react with his podcast co-host Adam Ferrone (a Philadelphia fan disappointed with the deal), Beverley took a series of calls, including one presumably from his mother, Lisa, and one discussing flight arrangements, leaving at 9 p.m. later Thursday.

He also looked up when the Bucks play back in Philadelphia (Feb. 25) and met the news mostly with excitement.

"Y'all don't understand what I'm saying," Beverley said. "I know how Doc operates. I know his message, clearer than anybody. He wants to win, straight up. He wants to win. I've been in the trenches with Doc."

Beverley has delivered spot-on impersonations of Giannis Antetokounmpo on his podcast

Beverley, one of the most colorful personalities in the NBA, has previously described interactions with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo on the podcast, and mimicked Antetokounmpo's voice perfectly.

That included one occasion when Beverley complained to officials that Antetokounmpo had committed a violation only to have Giannis coolly respond while pointing to himself, "Pat, Pat, no no no, champion. Champion."

In another instance, Beverly recalled joking with Thanasis Antetokounmpo that Giannis was "ducking smoke" by not being available for that night's contest. Giannis, seeing Beverley in the hallway, corrected the record. "Never duck smoke, Pat, never."
