Park Ridge Blotter: 69-year-old man arrested for battery
The following items were taken from Park Ridge Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Attempted auto theft
A victim parked their 2016 BMW X5 at a Thornton’s gas station pump at 1118 West Touhy Avenue in Park Ridge on Dec. 11 around 12:05 p.m. A dark-colored sedan pulled up behind the victim’s car, and an unknown offender entered the BMW through the unlocked driver’s side. According to police, a bystander observed the incident and alerted the victim. The offender quickly exited the vehicle and fled the scene.
Suspicious incident
A driver near the intersection of Dee Road and Touhy Avenue in Park Ridge asked a female pedestrian for directions, but when she got closer, the driver exposed himself. According to police, the incident occurred on Dec. 12 around 1:07 p.m. and the driver fled the scene.
Theft/Burglary
A resident from the 2600 block of Woodland Avenue in Park Ridge reported a theft of a UPS package sent to their home on Nov. 30. Police said the value of the package was under $500.
Between 2:48 p.m. on Oct. 18 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 12, unknown offenders entered the office space at 1400 Renaissance Drive in Park Ridge and stole several pieces of office equipment and furniture.
During the overnight hours of Dec. 12 in the 1000 block of Peterson Avenue, an unknown offender removed the catalytic converter from a 2017 blue Mitsubishi Outlander while it was parked in a private lot.
Battery
A 69-year-old Niles man from the 8900 block of West Golf Road was arrested for battery on Dec. 14 at 10:30 p.m. at 1775 West Dempster Street, the address of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, in Park Ridge.
Traffic/Speeding
A 51-year-old Chicago woman from the 6000 block of North Fairfield Avenue was arrested at the Seeley Avenue and Northwest Highway intersection for speeding 21-25 mph over the limit on Dec. 13 at 7:52 a.m. The woman also had her driver’s side window and windshield tinted, did not have a driver’s license issued to her, and operated an uninsured vehicle.
A 28-year-old Harwood Heights woman from the 7100 block of West Gunnison Street was arrested for speeding 15-20 mph over the limit with a suspended license and an expired registration on the 400 block of Northwest Highway in Park Ridge on Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
A 23-year-old Morton Grove man from the 7000 block of Church Street was arrested for operating an uninsured vehicle, speeding 26-34 mph over the limit, fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving and improper traffic lane usage at the 2200 West Oakton Street block in Park Ridge on Dec. 15 at 7:38 p.m.
A 62-year-old Chicago woman from the 6000 block of Lincoln Avenue was arrested for driving with an expired license and speeding 15-20 mph over the limit at 6901 West Oakton Street in Niles on Dec. 16 at 9:52 p.m.
A 21-year-old Chicago woman from the 1700 block of West Farwell Avenuewas arrested for speeding 26-34 mph over the limit and operating an uninsured vehicle at 1437 West Oakton Street in Park Ridge on Dec. 17 at 7:01 p.m.
An 18-year-old Chicago woman from the 5400 block of North East River Road was arrested for disregarding a traffic control light, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating a car without a license at the intersection of North Western Avenue and Touhy Avenue in Park Ridge on Dec. 17 at 5:19 p.m.
Fugitive
A 35-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested at his residence in the 700 block of Merrill Street on an out-of-state warrant on Dec. 14 at 7:38 a.m.
