Panthers WR Terrace Marshall Jr. ruled out with concussion in Week 6

With quarterback Sam Darnold continuing to struggle, the Carolina Panthers will need all the help they can get against the Minnesota Vikings in the passing game. Unfortunately, wideout Terrace Marshall Jr. won’t be apart of that.

The rookie receiver left the Week 6 contest in the first half following a nasty hit from Vikings safety Xavier Woods. Darnold left a ball over the middle for Marshall, who was hit in the head by Woods’ lowered shoulder on the attempted reception.

At the start of the second half, Carolina announced the 2021 third-round pick would not return to the game, as he’s been diagnosed with a concussion.

Marshall Jr. caught one pass for nine yards on the day. Brandon Zlystra, who returned this afternoon after a hamstring injury of his own, and Alex Erickson will fill the void left behind by Marshall Jr.’s absence.

The Panthers trail the Vikings, 12-10, midway through the third quarter.
