Panthers place DE Henry Anderson on NFI, sign three players
On Tuesday, the Carolina Panthers announced that they’ve placed defensive end Henry Anderson on the reserve/non-football injury or illness list. He will now, similarly to injured reserve, miss at least the next four weeks.
Anderson signed on with the Panthers back on Sept. 5, a move that prompted the surprising release of 2021 draft pick and fellow defensive lineman Daviyon Nixon. Through six games in 2022, he has recorded 12 combined tackles (two for a loss) and one quarterback hit.
The eighth-year defender, who was listed with an illness on Sunday, did not play in the Week 7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Carolina also announced a pair of signings in cornerback Tae Hayes and offensive lineman Larnel Coleman.
Hayes, a summer standout, stuck on into the regular season as a member of the team’s practice squad. He has been called up over the last two weeks with injuries to Jaycee Horn, Donte Jackson and CJ Henderson.
Coleman, whose signing was first reported yesterday by Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, will join the 53-man roster from the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad.
Additionally, defensive tackle Phil Hoskins, who was waived on Saturday, will fill Hayes’ vacated spot on Carolina’s practice squad.
