Panthers to interview Rams assistant HC Thomas Brown for OC job
Even with the hold up for Philadelphia Eagles assistants, Carolina Panthers don’t seem to be intent on ending their offensive coordinator search on the Monday after Super Bowl LVII.
As first reported by NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero on Sunday morning, the team is scheduled to interview Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach Thomas Brown on Thursday. This’ll be the second meeting between the Panthers and Brown, who will also speak with the the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a second time a day prior regarding the same opening.

A former running back, Brown was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL draft. He would not, however, log a regular-season snap during his pro career, which also featured a short stint with the Cleveland Browns between 2009 and 2010.
The Tucker, Ga. native got his start on the sidelines in 2011 as a strength and conditioning coach at his alma mater, the University of Georgia. He’d go on to serve for six colleges in total—including Chattanooga, Marshall, Wisconsin, Miami (Fla.) and South Carolina—either as a running backs coach or offensive coordinator.
Brown’s jump back to the NFL began in 2020, as a running backs coach for Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams. He would then add the position of assistant head coach to his résumé in 2021 and tight ends coach in 2022.
