Pairings set for Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Region baseball and softball tournaments

The draws are set for the Louisville-area baseball and softball regional tournaments, with teams vying for spots in the state tournaments.

No. 5-ranked Pleasure Ridge Park (33-3) headlines the field for the Sixth Region baseball tournament. The Panthers, looking for their first regional title since 2019, will host Bullitt East (20-12) at 11 a.m. Monday in a quarterfinal.

The Sixth Region semifinals (Tuesday) and final (5:30 p.m. Friday) will be played at the University of Louisville’s Jim Patterson Stadium.

No. 1 Trinity (33-4) will take a 19-game winning streak into the Seventh Region baseball tournament. The Shamrocks will host Male (10-16) at 4 p.m. Monday in a quarterfinal.

The Seventh Region Tournament includes five teams ranked among the top 20 in the state, with No. 4 Ballard, No. 13 St. Xavier, No. 14 Eastern and No. 19 Manual joining Trinity. Manual (22-11) will host Eastern (24-10) at 4 p.m. Monday in a key quarterfinal.

The Seventh Region semifinals (Wednesday) and final (8 p.m. Friday) will be played at Jim Patterson Stadium.

No. 24 Woodford County (24-8) leads the Eighth Region baseball field and will host Owen County (16-8) at 6 p.m. Monday in a regional quarterfinal.

The Eighth Region semifinals (Thursday) and final (1 p.m. Saturday) will be played at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Regional baseball champions will advance to the state tournament set for June 6-15 in Lexington.

No. 15 Bullitt East (19-7) leads the field for the Sixth Region softball tournament. The Chargers (19-7), seeking their first regional title since 2012, lost to Mercy 7-2 in the 24th District final and will play at Fairdale (18-9) at 5 p.m. Monday in a quarterfinal.

Western (1-9) has forfeited its quarterfinal matchup at North Bullitt (12-12).

The Sixth Region semifinals (Tuesday) and final (6 p.m. Friday) will be played at U of L’s Ulmer Stadium.

No. 4 Male (24-7) leads a loaded field in the Seventh Region softball tournament and will play at No. 10 Eastern (28-7) in a quarterfinal at 1 p.m. Monday.

No. 9 Ballard (21-6) has won back-to-back state titles and will play at Manual (17-13) at 11 a.m. Monday. No. 14 Assumption (25-11) will host Atherton (19-13) at 4 p.m. Monday.

The Seventh Region semifinals (Wednesday) and final (8 p.m. Friday) will be played at Ulmer Stadium.

No. 21 Oldham County (20-12) leads the field for the Eighth Region softball tournament and will host Trimble County (21-13) at 4 p.m. Saturday in a quarterfinal.

The Eighth Region semifinals (Monday) and final (7 p.m. Thursday) will be played at Ulmer Stadium.

Regional softball champions will advance to the state tournament set for June 6-15 at the University of Kentucky's John Cropp Stadium in Lexington.

Sixth Region baseball

Monday (at district champions) – Bullitt East (20-12) at Pleasure Ridge Park (33-3), 11 a.m.; North Bullitt (22-14) at Butler (19-16), 11 a.m.; Holy Cross (14-17) at Bullitt Central (23-12-1), 4 p.m.; DeSales (23-13) at Fern Creek (17-14), 4 p.m.

Tuesday (at U of L) – Bullitt East-Pleasure Ridge Park winner vs. North Bullitt-Butler winner, 5:30 p.m.; Holy Cross-Bullitt Central winner vs. DeSales-Fern Creek winner, 8 p.m.

Friday (at U of L) – Final, 5:30 p.m.

Seventh Region baseball

Monday (at district champions) – Eastern (24-10) at Manual (22-11), 4 p.m.; Male (10-16) at Trinity (33-4), 4 p.m.; Highlands Latin (21-12) at Ballard (27-5), 11 a.m.; Francis Parker (7-15) at St. Xavier (22-15), 11 a.m.

Wednesday (at U of L) – Eastern-Manual winner vs. Male-Trinity winner, 5:30 p.m.; Highlands Latin-Ballard winner vs. Francis Parker-St. Xavier winner, 8 p.m.

Friday (at U of L) – Final, 8 p.m.

Eighth Region baseball

Monday (at district champions) – Shelby County (14-18) at Simon Kenton (24-13), 6 p.m.; North Oldham (11-20) at Henry County (13-17), 6 p.m.; Walton-Verona (21-10) at South Oldham (19-13), 5 p.m.; Owen County (16-8) at Woodford County (24-8), 6 p.m.

Thursday (at U of L) – Shelby County-Simon Kenton winner vs. North Oldham-Henry County winner, 6 p.m.; Walton-Verona-South Oldham winner vs. Owen County-Woodford County winner, 8 p.m.

Saturday (at U of L) – Final, 1 p.m.

Sixth Region softball

Monday (at district champions) – Bullitt Central (8-20) at Butler (15-15), 2 p.m.; Bullitt East (19-7) at Fairdale (18-9), 5 p.m.; Holy Cross (12-14) at Mercy (18-13), 1 p.m.; Western (1-9) at North Bullitt (12-12), Western forfeits
