Jordy Nelson’s team record for receiving yards in a single season lasted just seven years.

Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams broke Nelson’s record – set at 1,519 yards in 2014 – in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

Adams broke the record on a 13-yard catch from Aaron Rodgers to start the Packers’ third possession.

Adams came into the game with 1,498 yards. He needed 22 to break Nelson’s record.

Adams now holds the team record for catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in a season. He set the new records for catches and receiving yards this season and tied Sterling Sharpe’s record with 18 touchdown catches last season.
