Packers WR Allen Lazard expected to ‘play through’ shoulder pain vs. Lions

Despite still feeling pain in his injured shoulder, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard is expected to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Bill Huber of SI.com reports Lazard, who was listed as questionable to play on the final injury report, is planning to “play through the residual pain” of the injury on Sunday.

Lazard practiced in a limited capacity on all three days this week. He initially suffered the shoulder injury in the second half of the Packers’ loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 7 and then missed last week’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The Packers didn’t elevate Travis Fulgham from the practice squad or sign Juwann Winfree from the practice squad, suggesting the team believes Lazard and/or rookie Christian Watson (concussion) will be available.

Through eight weeks, Lazard has 26 catches for 340 yards and a team-high four touchdowns over six games.

Lazard has at least 50 receiving yards or a touchdown in all six of his appearances in 2022.

The Packers’ four healthy receivers entering Week 9 are Sammy Watkins, Romeo Doubs, Amari Rodgers and Samori Toure.

Sunday’s showdown at Ford Field is scheduled for a noon kickoff from Detroit.
