One of the top prospects at the Ole Miss-Cal game this past weekend was 2019 four-star quarterback Hank Bachmeier.

The Murrieta (Calif.) Murrieta Valley standout had an excellent time.

“Loved the trip, had an awesome time,” Bachmeier said.

“Just talked about both of our seasons and how everything has been going. They didn't really pressure me on recruiting, I talk to the coaches every week. Mainly coach (Marques Tuiasosopo) so we have a great relationship and it was just great to get back up there and experience the game atmosphere.”

The Golden Bears not only defeated Ole Miss, 27-16, but Cal is 3-0 so far this season with impressive wins over North Carolina, Weber State and the Rebels this past weekend.

Rated as the fourth-best dual-threat quarterback in the 2019 class, Bachmeier has definitely taken notice to Cal’s success.

“Definitely looks like Cal football is going in the right direction,” Bachmeier said. “They just shut down one of the top offenses in the country and methodically drove down the field and controlled the football game on offense.”

So far, Bachmeier has landed offers from Boise State, Boston College, Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Minnesota, UCLA, UNLV, Utah and Washington.

More visits should be coming up in the next few weeks.

“So P.J. Fleck (was at Murrieta Valley on Monday), so he has been recruiting me very hard,” Bachmeier said. “I made sure to pick a game, Maryland on Sept. 30.

“Boise is also a school I like a lot so I scheduled their game against Wyoming. Those are for-sure games. Colorado I am trying to figure out to make it out this week but don't know yet.”

Having Fleck fly out meant a lot to the 2019 four-star quarterback.

“Tremendous person,” Bachmeier said. “Very genuine and energetic. Meant a lot that he flew out here just to see me.”
