The Sooners got one step closer to reaching the NCAA Championships on Thursday.

The No. 1-ranked OU women's gymnastics team secured first place in the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional semifinals with a score of 198.050. Its NCAA-record 11th score of over 198 bested Ohio State (196.975), Illinois (196.750) and NC State (195.950).

Junior Jordan Bowers won three individual regional titles in bars (9.975), floor (9.95) and the all-around (39.675). Senior Katherine LeVasseur also won a share of the vault title with a 9.95, and fifth-year Ragan Smith won the beam title with her second-straight perfect 10.

OU (32-0) now advances to the regional final at 4 p.m. Saturday, where it'll face Ohio State, Alabama and Penn State. The top two teams will advance to the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, which is set for April 18-20.

OU is looking to win its third straight national title. It has also qualified for the NCAA Championships every year since 2004 excluding the 2020 campaign, which was cut short due to COVID-19.
