OU football quarterback recruit Kevin Sperry transferring to Carl Albert

The OU football program is going to be able to have an up-close view for a Class of 2025 quarterback recruit.

Kevin Sperry, a four-star quarterback in the 247Sports.com composite rankings, will be making the move from Rock Hill High School in Prosper, Texas, to Carl Albert in Midwest City. The news was first reported Monday by SoonerScoop.

Sperry announced his commitment to the Sooners in March.

Adding a standout junior quarterback of Sperry's caliber only bolsters the expectations for the reigning Class 5A state champion Titans.

The Titans feature star running back Xavier Robinson, who was The Oklahoman's 2022 All-State football team's Offensive Player of the Year.

Sperry, rated as the No. 23 quarterback in his class by 247Sports, accounted for 2,184 yards and 16 touchdowns last season.

“I’ll be honest with you, I don’t think everybody realized how good he was,” Rock Hill coach Mark Wilkinson told The Dallas Morning News about Sperry last fall. “I think that’s why people kind of downplayed us a little bit in District 5-6A, which is a brutal district. First year in 6A, I don’t think they quite realized that our team had heart, and I don’t think they realized how good Kevin is.”

Sperry's younger brother, Rozzi, is a quarterback prospect in the 2027 class.
