OSSAA releases Class 5A Girls East Regional bracket
Feb. 14—The path through the playoffs is set.
The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association released the complete Class 5A Girls East Regional Tournament brackets on Wednesday, with McAlester learning their road through the postseason.
The Lady Buffs will travel to the Tahlequah regional alongside Edison Prep and Collinsville. McAlester will open the first round Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m., facing off against Collinsville.
With a new format, the 5A regional tournament is now a double-elimination tournament. A win for the Lady Buffs would put McAlester in Feb. 23's regional final against the winner between the host Lady Tigers and Edison, while a loss will set up a matchup between the Lady Buffs and the loser of that game at 2 p.m. Feb. 23.
The OSSAA Class 5A Girls East Regional Tournaments are scheduled for Feb. 20-24, with a winner and consolation winner advancing into the area tournament.
