Oshkosh West, Oakfield sit atop area high school softball rankings; Waupun No. 1 in baseball

Here are the high school softball and baseball rankings for the Oshkosh and Fond du Lac area through Tuesday's games.

Softball

1, Oshkosh West (22-4): Top-seeded Wildcats finish second in Fox Valley Association and are coming off victories on Saturday against Oak Creek (2-1) and Burlington (13-4). Team hosts Menasha on Thursday in D1 regional final.

2, Oakfield (21-3): Oaks continue excellent play into postseason, beating Fall River 15-0 in four innings in Tuesday's D5 regional semifinal and face Johnson Creek in regional final Thursday.

3, Mayville (16-4): Cardinals blast North Fond du Lac 13-4 in D3 regional semifinal and host Flyway rival Lomira in regional final Thursday.

4, Winnebago Lutheran (18-2): Vikings crush Berlin 13-3 in six innings in D3 regional semifinal Tuesday. Team faces Campbellsport at Marian University on Thursday in regional final.

5, Waupun (18-5): Warriors beat Grafton 10-3 in D2 regional semifinal Tuesday and host Winneconne in Thursday's regional final.

Others: Lomira (17-7), Winneconne (15-10).

Baseball

1, Waupun (19-4): Warriors blast Omro 14-0 on Tuesday and face Oakfield in nonconference regular-season finale Friday. Junior ace Mason Holz is 7-1 with a 1.34 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 52 innings pitched.

2, Oakfield (15-3): Oaks finish second in Trailways Conference-North and are led in batting by Owen Larson (.481 average, 33 RBIs). Play at Waupun on Friday.

3, Lomira (15-5): Lions' late-season surge earns them Flyway Conference title with 12-2 record. Josh Steger leads team with 7-0 record and 0.31 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched. Team hosts Sheboygan Lutheran in D3 regional opener Thursday.

4, Laconia (15-6): Spartans finish in three-way tie for second place in Flyway with Campbellsport and St. Mary's Springs. Team hosts Ozaukee in D3 regional opener Thursday.

5, Campbellsport (12-9): Cougars fall to Hartford 9-1 in regular-season finale and host Winneconne in D2 regional opener Thursday.

Others: St. Mary's Springs (13-9), Fond du Lac (11-11).
