Omro extends lead in Flyway to two games with 20-point win over Mayville, WLA loss to Laconia

Here is a look at Thursday's high school sports action in the area.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Omro 88, Mayville 68

OMRO - The Foxes (17-3, 11-0 Flyway) remained perfect in conference with a 20-point win over the Cardinals (3-16, 3-9).

Omro also extended their lead in the Flyway to two games with three more to play thanks to Winnebago Lutheran's 94-92 loss to Laconia.

Keenan Rahn and Ryan Schoeni combined for 72 points to lead the Foxes in the victory.

Berlin 79, Winneconne 65

BERLIN - Aaron Bartol scored a game-high 24 points to lead Berlin (16-5, 6-3 East Central) in the victory over the Wolves (3-15, 2-8).

Bartol also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out six assists and had five steals for Berlin.

Brock Wilde added 19 points and Hayden Redington had a double-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds.

Parker Ingles led Winneconne with 17 points and Brady Immel followed with 14. Ingels and Immel each hit a team-high three 3-pointers.

Ayden Loukidis chipped in with 12 points and Brody Schaffer rounded out the Wolves' scoring leaders with an even 10.

Berlin 40 39 - 79

Waupun 76, Ripon 56

RIPON - The last-place Tigers (6-15, 1-9 East Central) were blown out by the first-place Warriors (13-7, 9-1).

Henry Beuthin led Ripon with 17 points and five rebounds. Mason Killam followed with 13 points, seven boards and a pair of steals and Declan Dudzinski had 12 points with three assists for the Tigers.

Aiden Hawkinson scored a game-high 27 points, including 5-for-9 on threes, grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists and had three steals to lead Waupun.

Issac Vande Kamp chipped in with 11 points and Logan Prall had 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Warriors.

Ripon 30 26 - 56

Dodgeland 74, Valley Christian 40

JUNEAU - The Warriors (2-18, 0-11 Trailways-East) suffered a brutal blowout loss to the Trojans (14-7, 6-5) after scoring just nine first-half points.

Cade Krause led Valley Christian with 10 points and five rebounds. Joshua Johnson followed with nine points and Kaleb Richardson had eight for the Warriors.

Kowen Erstad scored a game-high 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds with four blocks to lead Dodgeland with a double-double.

Brayden Stobb also double-doubled with 11 points, 10 boards and a pair of blocks and Isaiah Yuenger finished with 10 for the Trojans.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Sheboygan Christian 57, Valley Christian 50

SHEBOYGAN - The Warriors (14-7, 8-4 Trailways-East) fell to the Eagles (13-8, 5-6 Big East-South) in a non-conference contest.

Anna Y. Giannopoulos led Valley Christian with 19 points and Mya Moran followed with 12 for the Warriors.

Maria Zylstra scored 23 points to lead Sheboygan Christian and Sofia Rodriguez added 13 for the Eagles.

BOYS HOCKEY

Wisconsin Rapids 7, Oshkosh 0

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - The Ice Hawks (9-15, 3-6 Badgerland) were shut out by the Red Raiders (16-5, 6-4 Wisconsin Valley), conceding two goals in the first and third periods and three goals in the second.

Oshkosh was outshot by Wisconsin Rapids, 56-6, in the rout.

Gage Bauer had 49 saves for the Ice Hawks and Noah Petersen had all six for Rapids.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Brookfield 5, Warbirds 4

BROOKFIELD - The Warbirds got out to a 4-1 lead after two periods but surrendered four consecutive goals in the third to take a loss in the regular season finale.

Callie Rottman had two goals and both Maddy Gilson and Kristi Binder chipped in with goals for the Warbirds, as well.

Lauren Grass had 11 saves for the Warbirds.
