Late Wednesday night, Sage Curtis announced her commitment to the University of Utah’s women’s gymnastics program in an Instagram post, becoming the latest addition to the Red Rocks’ 2025 recruiting class.

Curtis wrote: “Dreams really do come true!! I am SO excited to announce that I have verbally committed to the University of Utah on a full ride athletic scholarship!!! Thank you so much to my coaches, parents, teammates, family, and friends for helping me get to where I am today and making this dream a reality! Also huge thank you to Tom (Farden), Carly (Dockendorf), Jimmy (Pratt), and Myia (Hambrick) for this opportunity! I am extremely grateful and can’t wait to be a future Red Rock! GO UTES!!”

A Riverton native and Level 10 gymnast at Olympus Gymnastics in South Jordan, Curtis is rated a three-star recruit by College Gym News. She chose Utah over Florida, Kentucky and Utah State, among others.

CGN named Curtis one of the more underrated recruits in the country on floor exercise and vault.

“Curtis is an absolute bundle of energy,” Tori Meador wrote about Curtis’ ability on floor. “She doesn’t have the most difficulty, but she executes all of her skills to perfection with amplitude to spare.”

As for Curtis’ vault potential, CGN wrote, “Curtis qualified to nationals as a vault specialist on the strength of her Yurchenko full but opted to debut the one and a half in competition and earned a 9.675 for her efforts.”

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Curtis is the second commit in Utah’s 2025 class, joining Bailey Stroud, who committed to the Red Rocks last week.

Stroud also announced her pledge to Utah on Instagram, writing, “I am so incredibly excited and honored to announce that I have verbally committed to the University of Utah on a full athletic scholarship!!!!! I have been dreaming of this day from the very first time I learned what college gymnastics was, and it is truly surreal to see the opportunities this sport has provided me with. Thank you to my coaches, as you all have shaped me into the person I am today and taught me so many lessons that will last a life-time.

“Thank you to the Utah gymnastics staff for providing me with this amazing opportunity, I feel so blessed to get to be a part of this amazing team you have built. And of course thank you to my family for the endless support, car rides, flights, late nights, early mornings, trips to the doctor, etc. I am so blessed to have the greatest support system surrounding me throughout this crazy journey. And it’s far from over GO UTES.”

A native of New Palestine, Indiana, Stroud’s ability on uneven bars has drawn praise, with CGN writing, “Stroud’s bars are some of the best in the class, garnering a near-perfect 24 points. While she missed the majority of this season, she competed a difficult set that exceeds level 10 requirements. Beyond the difficulty, her skills are executed with pristine form. With more consistency and scores under her belt on vault and beam, she could make a leap next year. Regardless, her bars will make any team happy.”

A three-star recruit like Curtis, Stroud is the latest Midwestern commit for Utah, a recruiting trend under Utah coach Tom Farden. Four current Red Rocks call the Midwest home, including three Minnesotans (Grace McCallum, Abby Paulson and Ella Zirbes) and a Hoosier (Elizabeth Gantner).
