Ole Miss football, Lane Kiffin lands key transfer addition in UTSA receiver Zakhari Franklin

Ole Miss football addressed a need at wide receiver with the addition of UTSA transfer Zakhari Franklin, who announced his commitment on Saturday.

"I Reached Every Goal Had To Write Another List!," Franklin wrote on Twitter.

Franklin racked up 3,348 receiving yards over his four-year career with the Roadrunners, surpassing the 1,000-yard threshold in each of the last two campaigns. He'll have one season of eligibility to play in Oxford.

He concluded the 2022 season with 94 receptions for 1,136 yards and 15 touchdowns.

It's a big get for coach Lane Kiffin after Ole Miss' surprising dismissal of Texas A&M transfer wideout Chris Marshall in May due to an undisclosed violation of team rules.

Franklin, listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, hails from Cedar Hill, Texas. He is one of two Conference USA wideouts that Ole Miss will depend on in 2023. The Rebels also added Tre Harris from Louisiana Tech.

Franklin is rated as the No. 22 wideout in the transfer portal this offseason by 247Sports.

Ole Miss lost its leading receiver Malik Heath to graduation, as well as Jonathan Mingo, who went in the second round of the NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers.
