Ole Miss basketball lands commitment from four-star Patton Pinkins, son of assistant

OXFORD — Ole Miss basketball and Chris Beard received good news on the recruiting trail on Wednesday, landing a commitment from four-star shooting guard Patton Pinkins.

Pinkins, who plays for Frenship High School in Wolfforth, Texas, is the son of Ole Miss assistant coach Al Pinkins.

The 6-foot-5 Pinkins is the No. 11 shooting guard in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He's also the No. 60 overall player in the cycle.

His offer list also included LSU, Oklahoma, Seton Hall and Texas Tech, among others. He becomes the first member of the Rebels' Class of 2025.

Ole Miss' 2024 recruiting class, the first Beard will have full oversight on since his hiring in March, currently sits at No. 33 nationally.
