Ole Miss baseball score updates vs Auburn: Rebels vs. Tigers in SEC series
Ole Miss baseball will be out to score a series victory it sorely needs when it visits Auburn for a three-game set beginning Friday.
The Rebels (23-21, 7-14 SEC) have dropped two out of three in their past two SEC series to Georgia and Alabama. They fell to Mississippi State in the Governor's Cup on Wednesday, 5-1.
The Tigers (21-22, 3-18) have had it even worse. They have yet to win an SEC series, losing two out of three games on the road against LSU last time out. Auburn could have the fresher bullpen this weekend because it did not play a midweek game.

Game 1: Ole Miss 11, Auburn 7
The Rebels used a pair of big blasts to help build a sizeable lead, with Will Furniss and Andrew Fischer both slugging three-run home runs. Jackson Ross went deep as well as part of a three-hit night, and Ole Miss tallied eight extra-base hits as a team. Riley Maddox allowed one earned run in five innings of work, though his defense faltered to the tune of three unearned runs. And the Ole Miss bullpen did enough to hold the lead despite some nerves in the ninth.
Game 2: Ole Miss 5, Auburn 4.
The Ole Miss bullpen carried the Rebels to their first road SEC series victory in nearly two years. Josh Mallitz and true freshman Wes Mendes combined for 5.1 innings of scoreless relief, with Mendes closing it out. Andrew Fischer slugged his 17th home run of the season and delivered the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the ninth inning.
