An Old Rochester Regional boys basketball player is being accused of spitting in the face of a Pittsfield player during Monday night's MIAA Division 2 state semifinal at Worcester State University.

The alleged incident took place after a basket by Pittsfield junior Malachi Perry with 5:24 left in the third quarter that cut Old Rochester’s lead to 43-32.

Perry was called for a technical foul for his response to the alleged incident. No foul was called on the Old Rochester player.

Old Rochester athletic director Chris Carrig had no comment on Wednesday afternoon and said that the school would be issuing a statement.

Calls to Old Rochester superintendent Michael Nelson and Old RochesterpPrincipal Mike Devoll were not returned.

Old Rochester went on to win the game 82-72 to earn the Bulldogs’ first trip to a state final in nine years. They will face the winner of Wednesday night’s state semifinal between No. 1 Charlestown and No. 4 Taconic at the Tsongas Center in Lowell at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
