Oklahoma high school baseball: COAC announces 2023 All-Conference awards
After boosting Deer Creek’s baseball team on the way to the Class 6A state tournament, Luke Schimmels is the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
The conference announced its 2023 All-COAC baseball awards late last week, and senior first baseman/pitcher Schimmels headlined the list. The Cisco (Texas) College signee entered the state tournament with a .491 batting average and 10 home runs.
Senior shortstop Landon Bruce of Norman North was named Defensive Player of the Year, and junior Jackson Pickelsimer received the Pitcher of the Year award.
Ryan Phillips, who guided Yukon to the Class 6A state semifinals, was distinguished as Coach of the Year.
