Both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren reached the Sweet 16 in their lone college basketball season.

Holmgren also played on a stacked 2021-22 Gonzaga team. It featured future NBA players such as the Indiana Pacers' Andrew Nembhard and the Denver Nuggets' Julian Strawther.

The No. 1-seeded Bulldogs ultimately suffered a 74-68 loss to No. 4 Arkansas in the Sweet 16. Holmgren averaged 9.7 points, 13.3 rebounds and 4.3 blocks during the tournament run.
