His previous long today was 5 yards, but the play after the injury stoppage, Michigan's Blake Corum scooted 22 yards for a Wolverines touchdown with 1:55 remaining in the third quarter.

Zak Zinter stretchered off

The injury was so grusome, Michigan players collapsed, head in hands, as soon as they saw it. Offensive lineman Zak Zinter needed medical attention after an obvious leg injury.

Ohio State players Jack Sawyer, J.T. Tuiomoloau, Tyliek Williams and Mike Hall all stood close to where Zinter was being treated and clapped in support.

Zinter raised a fist toward the fans as he was carted away. According to 97.1 The Fan's broadcast, Ohio State coach Ryan Day went up the tunnel to speak to Zinter's family while he was being tended to.

Ohio State misses field goal as half expires | Michigan 14, Ohio State 10

Ohio State's Jayden Fielding missed a 52-yard field goal try as the half came to an end. Setting up the field goal attempt was a ridiculous catch by Marvin Harrison who was being tackled as he hauled in a 44-yard grab with one hand.

Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson visits trainers

Ohio State athletic trainers taped up TreVeyon Henderson's right ankle during a lengthy review of a Julian Fleming catch. The running back was jogging around after that, but something to keep an eye on.

Ohio State's Jack Sawyer sacks Michigan's J.J. McCarthy

The Buckeyes defense forced the Wolverines punt after Jack Sawyer dropped J.J. McCarthy for a 5-yard loss. Sawyer has five tackles total. Steele Chambers leads the Ohio State defense with seven.

After the resulting punt, Ohio State will start at their own 2-yard line with 3:23 left until half.

Kyle McCord connects with Emeka Egbuka for a score | Michigan 14, Ohio State 10

Emeka Egbuka caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Kyle McCord with 6:27 to go in the second quarter.

A few plays before that, Cade Stover made a 32-yard catch with a, stop me if you've heard this before, muscular run after the reception for Farmer Gronk.

Michigan converts two fourth downs to set up a touchdown | Michigan 14, Ohio State 3

Roman Wilson threaded Denzel Burke and Malik Hartford and gathered the ball in just before crossing the plane into the end zone on a 22-yard reception. That's what the officials ruled after a review at the 10:22 mark of the second quarter.

That touchdown would not have been possible without Blake Corum keeping Michigan's drive moving with a leaping dive for a first down on fourth-and-1 on the OSU 39. Then on another fourth down, J.J. McCarthy threw a 9-yard pass to Closton Loveland.

Ohio State's Kyle McCord stats:

Here's an early quarterback comparison. Michigan's J.J. McCarthy is 3 for 5 for 25 yards. Ohio State's Kyle McCord is 4 for 10 for 47 yards and an interception.

Ohio State's Jayden Fielding puts Buckeyes on the board | Michigan 7, Ohio State 3

Jayden Fielding was good on a 43-yard field goal with plenty of distance to spare. He narrowed the Wolverines with 2:13 left in the first quarter.

The big play on that series was a nice 24-yard grab by Marvin Harrison Jr. And Cade Stover kept the drive going by breaking up what would have been Kyle McCord's second interception of the game.

McCord has completed four of his first 10 pass attempts.

Blake Corum gives Michigan the opening score | Michigan 7, Ohio State 0

From the 7-yard line, UM handed the ball off to Blake Corum three times. The third carry had to be reviewed before officials eventually ruled that on his second effort, he was stopped just short. On the subsequent fourth-down play, Corum broke into the end zone.

It is Corum's 21st rushing touchdown of the season, and it comes with 5:36 remaining in the first quarter.

Ohio State's Kyle McCord picked off

Will Johnson jumped in front of Marvin Harrison to give Michigan the ball. Johnson's return went 18 yards to the OSU 7.

Yet another punt in the Ohio State-Michigan game

Michigan goes 3-and-out on their ensuing drive, and Steele Chambers is a big reason why. The OSU linebacker already has three tackles today.

Ohio State opts to punt on fourth-and-1

Ohio State managed the game's first down. It came on an 11-yard pass to TreVeyon Henderson. But a few plays later, with the option to go for it on fourth-and-1, OSU coach Ryan Day opts to punt.

Michigan also goes 3-and-out

Like Ohio State, the only traction Michigan got on its opening series was on the run. Blake Corum's 5-yard run accounts for all the Wolverines offense before they also punt.

Ohio State ends opening possession with a punt

OSU's TreVeyon Henderson went 6 yards on two carries. Emeka Egbuka dropped a Kyle McCord pass and then Jesse Mirco punted it 34 yards.

Michigan wins coin toss, Ohio State takes opening kick

The Buckeyes will start at the 25-yard line, and the 119th edition of the rivalry game is underway.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day jumps around with Buckeyes players before Michigan game

It's probably fair to say, based on his pregame demeanor, that OSU football coach Ryan Day is amped up for today's rivalry game against Michigan.
