The Ohio State Buckeyes added another crown jewel to their 2020 football recruiting class on Friday with the top wide receiver in the nation: Julian Fleming.

Ranked the top wideout and player from Pennsylvania, Fleming is rated by Rivals as the No. 14 overall recruit. He announced his decision on Friday, via Twitter.

“When you see me, you see a five-star prospect,” Fleming said, over dramatic music. “You see a can’t-miss football player. You see someone who’s been given advantages because of my size, my speed and my potential. You see someone who can help your favorite football team. But I am more than a football player. I am a son, I am a brother and I am looking to become a man. I work when nobody else is looking so that I can be everything that I’m destined to become.

“For me, my family and nobody else. To you, I am a football player. To you, home is a place. To me, home is a feeling. To me, Ohio State is home. Go Bucks.”

Fleming was heavily recruited by nearby Penn State — his hometown is just an hour and a half from State College — where he made 12 official visits dating back to June 2017. He also strongly considered Alabama and Clemson.

Instead, he will head to Ohio State, where the team’s high-powered offense and arrival of former top recruit Justin Fields at quarterback helped seal the deal. A 6-foot-3, 210-pound wideout with easy speed, Fleming is just the second five-star receiver to commit to Ohio State in its last 12 classes.

"For a while, I thought I was going to Penn State, then for a while I thought I was going to Clemson, and then I just finally settled down and figured it out," Fleming said, via ESPN. "It was just the at-home feeling and their players. [Ohio State] puts their players first and all my visits there, I had countless hours with all the players, so I really got the college vibe right away."

Fleming is the second five-star recruit to commit to Ohio State this cycle, giving them the No. 8 overall recruiting class. Cincinnati-area offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr., the No. 5 overall recruit, committed to Ohio State last June.
