Ohio State guard Diana Collins enters transfer portal, second Buckeye to make the decision

Ohio State freshman guard Diana Collins took to Instagram on Friday night and announced that she in entering the transfer portal.

"This decision has been one of the toughest I've had to make," Collins said in her statement. "With that being said, after a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal."

Collins is the second Buckeye to enter the portal this week, with sophomore guard and Newark native Emma Shumate announcing her decision on Wednesday.

Coming into the program as the highest ranked prospect for Ohio State, and No. 70 overall according to ESPN, Collins also had experience playing for Team Sweden in the FIBA U20 European Championship.

Collins averaged 3 points over 18 appearances. She scored a career-high 10 points against Northwestern on Jan. 5.

Collins started seeing limited playing time toward the end of the season as Ohio State coach Kevin McGuff opted to go with a shorter bench.

Although two players from Ohio State are heading into the portal, one person who has confirmed that won't be the case is sophomore starter Cotie McMahon. Following the Buckeyes' exit from the NCAA Tournament, McMahon was asked about possibly hitting the transfer portal.
