Ohio State forward Justice Sueing to miss significant time with abdominal injury

Ohio State basketball forward Justice Sueing will miss some significant time due to an abdominal injury. A fifth-year senior, Sueing had the injury evaluated earlier this week and will need to rehab to return sometime this season according to a release from the OSU Athletic Department.

“We look forward to getting Justice back when he is healthy,” said head coach Chris Holtmann in a statement. “I’m disappointed for him because I know how much he is looking forward to his senior year. I know he will rest, rehab and be ready to go when he is healthy.”

There was no immediate timetable available for Sueing’s injury, but there’s no way around it, the news is a big blow for Ohio State. There were rumblings that he could turn into one of the Buckeyes’ more dynamic and consistent scoring playmakers from the wing, something sorely needed with a group of perimeter players that are still working through the nuances that come with coming together for the first time.

In his absence, the coaching staff will have to get creative with player groupings and minutes to best take advantage of the skill set available to give OSU the best chance to win. All of that will no doubt be a work in progress.
