Big night for Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson | OSU 24, Wisconsin 10

On a night when he has 162 rushing yards on 24 carries, TreVeyon Henderson has now added a touchdown to his stat line. It came on his longest rush of the evening, a 33 yarder.

Kyle McCord takes another intentional grounding penalty

He has three turnovers tonight, he's been sacked twice, and now Kyle McCord has taken his second intentional grounding penalty.

That being said, McCord is also 17 for 26 for 226 yards and two touchdown passes to Marvin Harrison Jr.

Ohio State safety Lathan Ransom hurt

Lathan Ransom, who had three tackles and one tackle for loss, has left for the locker room on a cart. Especially alarming for Ohio State fans is it was a non-contact injury that caused him to limp to the medical tent.

Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord takes penalty then limps off

Kyle McCord took an intentional grounding penalty that took Ohio State out of field goal range and then looked a bit gimpy on his way to the sideline.

A reminder: Backup quarterback Devin Brown is out for multiple weeks with an ankle injury. Tristan Gebbia and Lincoln Kienholtz are the signal callers still available.

Marvin Harrison Jr. makes second touchdown grab for Ohio State | OSU 17, Wisconsin 10

Wisconsin ties things up on opening drive of second half against Ohio State | OSU 10, Wisconsin 10

Running back Braelon Allen is questionable to return with his leg injury, but the Badgers didn't need him on their opening drive of the second half, getting a 27-yard Braedyn Locke pass to Bryson Green and later a 29-yard Locke rush to set up his 13-yard touchdown pass to Will Pauling.

Ohio State defense gives up a score | OSU 10, Wisconsin 3

An eventful last few moments in the first half: Ohio State's J.T. Tuimoloau left the field briefly holding his elbow but soon returned. Wisconsin's Braelon Allen, on the other hand, limped off and needed to be helped off. He could not make it to the locker room without the trainers. And the Buckeyes gave up its first points of the game on a 19-yard field goal.

For as well as the Buckeyes defense has played, OSU failed to record their first sack until that Wisconsin drive. Jordan Hancock brought Braedyn Locke down 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

Ohio State defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau hurt

Ohio State is in a goal line defense, and in attempting to keep the Badgers out of the end zone, Ohio State defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau hit the turf and writhed in pain. He left the field holding his elbow.

OSU quarterback Kyle McCord commits third turnover

Looking to get the ball to Marvin Harrison Jr., OSU quarterback Kyle McCord threw his second interception of the game. The Ricardo Hallman pick marks McCord's third turnover, given he also had a first-quarter fumble.

Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. gets into the end zone | OSU 10, Wisconsin 0

Marvin Harrison Jr.'s second catch of the game was on a crossing route. It went 16 yards for a Buckeyes touchdown.

TreVeyon Henderson made a nice block at the end of that play.

Another strong performance by the Ohio State defense

In the second quarter, OSU is riding a stellar game by its defense. The Buckeyes have given up just 30 yards; Braelon Allen has 5 carries for 25 yards and two fumbles; and Jack Sawyer has three tackles and one of the Buckeyes' forced fumbles.

Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord turns it over a second time

Despite Wisconsin's Jason Maitre excellent coverage, Marvin Harrison Jr. made his first catch of the game, a 35-yard grab that went for naught because a few plays later, Kyle McCord threw his first interception since the Indiana game. Rolling to his right, he tried to hit Carnell Tate in the end zone, but Preston Zachman came up with it.

McCord has also fumbled tonight.

Ohio State fails to convert on third down

Needing 5 yards, OSU quarterback Kyle McCord missed Marvin Harrison on third down again. They're now 2 for 5 in that category, and Harrison has yet to make a catch tonight. Maybe worse for the Buckeyes, Julian Fleming appeared to injure himself during that drive. With Emeka Egbuka (ankle) already limited, Ohio State's considerable wide receiver depth is being tested.

Ohio State's Jayden Fielding gets Buckeyes on the board | OSU 3, Wisconsin 0

Ohio State is 2 of 4 on third down plays. Chip Trayanum gained two yards on the Buckeyes' most recent third-down play. He needed 4. And so OSU sent out kicker Jayden Fielding who is now 10 for 11 on the year. This kick was a 27 yarder, and it puts Ohio State up 3-0.

Wisconsin fumbles the ball back to Ohio State

Two plays after Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord's fumble, Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen rushed up the middle for a gain of 11 yards before Jack Sawyer hit him and knocked the ball loose. Davison Igbinosun fell on it at the OSU 44.

Mixed results for Ohio State football on third and fourth down

Ohio State ran a quarterback sneak during their opening drive. Kyle McCord picked up a first down on a third-and-1. The Buckeyes later came up dry on a third-and-3 play when McCord couldn't hit receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. On the subsequent fourth down play, C.J. Goetz sacked McCord for a loss of 8 yards and forced the McCord to fumble the ball. Maema Njongmeta recovered at the Wisconsin 41.

Opening kickoff goes out of bounds

With Xavier Johnson back to return the kick, Wisconsin started tonight's game by sending the ball out of bounds, giving Ohio State the ball at the 35-yard line.

‘College GameDay’ picks: Ohio State vs. Wisconsin

Here's how the 'College GameDay' analysts picked Ohio State vs. Wisconsin:

  • Kirk Herbstreit: Ohio State

  • Pat McAfee: Ohio State

  • Desmond Howard: Ohio State

  • Former NFL WR Steve Smith Sr.: Ohio State

Kirk Herbstreit does not have Ohio State as his No. 1 CFP team

While Howard has the Buckeyes at No. 6, Kirk Herbstreit has Ohio State's rival as his No. 1 team in the country.

"For me, it has everything to do with they have not played the schedule other teams have played. But it's impossible to look at them and say they have not been the most dominant team," Herbstreit, a former Ohio State quarterback, said on ESPN's "College GameDay." "They can't help who they are playing. They give you the offense, the defense and the special teams. Veteran team from a year ago made it to the Playoff, got knocked out by TCU. Most of that team is back this year. You expect them to do what they are doing and they are doing that and maybe that much more. I think they have just been, to me, the most consistent brand from Week 1 to whatever week we're in now."

Herbstreit has Georgia, Florida State and Ohio State in his College Football Playoff, with Washington and Oklahoma on the outside looking in.

Luke Fickell wants to ‘close the gap’ between Wisconsin and Ohio State

Luke Fickell knows the standard Ohio State plays at. And ahead of Wisconsin’s prime-time game against the Buckeyes, Fickell said that standard is what he wants the Badgers to reach.

Nevertheless, Fickell said he knows what happens in college football.

“Best teams don’t always win games,” Fickell said. “The most talented teams don’t always win

games. College football every Saturday, it’s crazy how things happen.”

What is the spread for Ohio State-Wisconsin?

Ohio State will take the field at Camp Randall Stadium as a more than two-touchdown favorite.

The Buckeyes are 14.5-point favorites against Wisconsin with the over/under set at 46.5 points before kickoff per BetMGM. While the spread has remained the same, the over/under has risen three points.

Ohio State has covered the spread in four of its seven games in 2023, while Wisconsin has posted a 2-4-1 record against the spread this season.

Desmond Howard has Ohio State at No. 6 in personal CFP rankings

Desmond Howard is not buying into the Ohio State hype.

On ESPN's "College GameDay" Saturday, the former Michigan wide receiver and Heisman Trophy winner had the Buckeyes at No. 6 in his personal CFP rankings, putting Georgia, Michigan, Florida State and Oklahoma in his top four and Washington at No. 5.

But while Ohio State has two top-10 wins against Notre Dame and Penn State, which lost to the Buckeyes 20-12 in Columbus Oct. 21, Howard is not convinced by Ohio State's strength of schedule.

"I don't have a lot of faith in Notre Dame," Howard said. "The Notre Dame win was a big win on the road. We saw it... They won the game, but it was like last-second. So it wasn't dominant. I want to see a team that's dominant.

"There's just so many question marks for Ohio State that I can't rank them above No. 6 right now.”

Wisconsin 2023 schedule: How are the Badgers doing?

In the first year under head coach Luke Fickell, Wisconsin has won five of its first seven games, including a road comeback win against Illinois Oct. 21.
