Ohio boys tennis: Sycamore, Seven Hills finish season with OTCA team state championships

Days after the Ohio High School Athletic Association hosted its boys tennis tournament, the Ohio tennis season came to a complete end with the conclusion of the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association's team state tournament.

The Sycamore Aviators repeated as Division I champions while Seven Hills claimed the Division II crown.

After finishing third and fourth in the OHSAA singles tournament, Nick Meyers and Nicholas Choo helped lead Sycamore over Olentangy Orange in the OTCA finals.

Sycamore clinched the state title with a 3-0 victory, including Meyers taking a 6-3, 6-1 decision in first singles and Choo winning 6-1, 6-2 in second singles. The doubles group of Andrew Wittenbaum and Arjun Rajagopala, who finished as OHSAA doubles runners-up, also won 6-0, 6-1.

In the Division II bracket, Seven Hills wrapped up a successful campaign with a team title of its own.

Seven Hills met with Lexington in the finals, winning 3-0. OHSAA Division II second-place finisher Avi Mahajan picked up a 6-0, 6-2 decision while his teammate Cole Cozens, the third-place individual finisher, won 6-2, 6-1.

John Corbett and Gavin Isakov also picked up one of the deciding finishes, winning their second doubles match 6-3, 6-3.
