Offensive guard Layden Robinson selected to the Lombardi Award Watchlist

Texas A&M offensive lineman, starting right guard, and native of Manvel, Texas, Layden Robinson has been selected to the Rotary Lombardi Award Preseason Watchlist, which was announced on Monday afternoon by the Rotary Club of Houston. The award is annually presented to the most outstanding offensive or defensive lineman that best exemplifies the character and discipline of NFL Hall of Fame head coach Vince Lombardi. This is the third preseason watchlist selection for Robinson, along the Wuerffel Trophy and Outland Trophy watchlists.

Layden is entering his redshirt junior season with the Aggies as the presumed leader on the offensive line, playing alongside second-year starters in Center Bryce Foster, and Right Tackle Reuben Fatheree. Standing at 6-4, 330lbs, Robinson is a force to be reckoned with on the interior, displaying impressive strength, balance, and footwork in his blocks, while being noted as a bully in the run game, and will be leading the way this season in clearing space for star running back Devon Achane. After the 2021 season, he was named to the All-SEC Second Team by the Associated Press.

Off the field, he has excelled in the classroom and is designated to receive his bachelor’s degree in communications by December of this year.
