Oakland A's select Texas Tech commit Myles Naylor in 2023 MLB Draft

The Oakland Athletics selected Texas Tech commit Myles Naylor with the 39th pick of the 2023 MLB Draft on Sunday night.

Drafted out of St. Joan of Arc High School in Maple, Ontario, Canada, Naylor was taken with the final pick of the Competitive Balance Round A portion of the draft.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound righty committed to the Red Raiders last year. He is the younger brother of Bo and Noah Naylor. Josh committed to Tech before being taken 12th overall in the 2015 draft. The brothers now play together on the Cleveland Guardians.

MLB.com listed Naylor as the 64th overall prospect entering the draft with a score of 50 overall, his highest marks coming from power, arm and fielding, all of which were at 55s.

Naylor's slot value for being taken 39th overall is approximately $2.2 million, according to MLB.com.
